PodcastPilot with SDI and NDI sources, live program, multitrack audio timeline and mixer

Built for professional podcast studios

Technical specifications.

01 / Video

Live switching like a broadcast mixer

Cut or fade between camera sources in real time without losing the isolated feeds. Hardware timestamps and constant frame rate – frame-accurate, every time.

02 / Sources

SDI, NDI® and USB in the same mix

Blackmagic DeckLink inputs, NDI sources straight from the network (video and audio) and USB cameras side by side – with automatic format detection down to the bit depth.

03 / Audio

Isolated 24-bit multitrack audio

Every audio track records clean as Broadcast Wave with timecode — mono or stereo, so a mixer's sub-mixes (RØDECaster and the like) land as proper stereo pairs. Camera-embedded audio and NDI feeds can be picked as track inputs just like your physical interfaces.

04 / Remote NEW FEATURE

Remote guests in the recording

Guests join from a browser link on any phone or laptop and land as a real source: their own ISO video and clean audio track, frame-locked to your cameras, with echo-free conversation both ways. 60 guest minutes included every month.

05 / Capture

ISO recording of every camera

All cameras record in full quality alongside the program. You always have the raw material if you regret a live cut.

06 / Export

Project XML ready to import

Import-ready project XML for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut – your live cut as an editable timeline where a mis-timed switch is fixed by trimming one segment, plus a vertical 9:16 sequence with your marked highlights.

07 / Metadata

Markers and sync slate, live

Mark highlights and mistakes with a single keystroke while recording. Markers carry straight into your edit – and drive the social clip sequence.

08 / Review

Quality-check instantly

Play the recording back inside the app the second you stop – jump between markers and sync points without opening an NLE.

09 / System

Built for production

Crash-safe files, a disk speed test before record start, dropped-frame monitoring and live CPU/network status. You do not lose a recording.

10 / Control

Stream Deck and Companion control

Switch sources, start recording, drop markers and ride track volumes from a Bitfocus Companion module with live tally and timecode feedback — on any Stream Deck or other control surface.

11 / Support

One-click support packages

If something misbehaves, the app collects a diagnostics package (system profile, hardware, logs — never your recordings) and uploads it with a short ID to quote. We see exactly what your machine saw.

From recording to edit in minutes — not hours.

FAQ.

Didn't find your answer? Contact us.

Which cameras are supported?

Any camera with a clean HDMI or SDI signal via Blackmagic DeckLink hardware (Desktop Video 16+), any NDI® source on the network — plus USB and built-in cameras.

Do NDI cameras and NDI from OBS work?

Yes. NDI sources on the network are discovered automatically and added in two clicks — including the feed's audio, selectable directly as a track input.

Which audio interfaces work?

Every Core Audio interface (Focusrite, RME, Zoom, UA and more) — several at once, too. The app syncs their clocks automatically. Camera-embedded SDI audio and NDI audio work side by side with interfaces.

Can I edit the recordings in my NLE?

Yes. Every session generates project XML for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve plus FCPXML for Final Cut, with all tracks in sync — import it straight from the session folder, markers included.

Does it need a powerful Mac?

PodcastPilot is optimized for Apple Silicon (macOS 14+). For multi-camera ProRes recording a fast SSD is recommended.

How many cameras can one Mac record?

Every ISO plus the program mix runs through the Mac's hardware encoder, and H.264 and HEVC use two different encoder units. As a rule of thumb an M-series Mac handles 3 cameras + program at 1080p50 in H.264. Choose HEVC for more (6+ streams on an M4), or record at 25 fps. The app measures your Mac's actual encoder speed and warns you before recording if the setup exceeds it.

Can I control it from a Stream Deck?

Yes — via our Bitfocus Companion module: cut/fade, record, markers, sync slate and track volumes (Stream Deck + dials included), with program tally and live timecode on the keys. The module is awaiting approval in Companion's module store — until then, contact us and we'll send it to you.

How does the trial work?

14 days free with full functionality. A card is required, and you can cancel any time before the trial ends.
